TAIPEI, TAIWAN -Acer, the world’s third largest projector brand[1], today announced its V9800 4K UHD home cinema projector. Native Ultra-High-Definition (UHD, 3840 x 2160) resolution and incredible color range make the V9800 the ideal projector for a truly cinematic viewing experience in any home.

4K Like You’ve Never Experienced

Featuring a TI® 4K DMD processor, the V9800 serves up more than 8 million pixels — four times more than a 1080p Full HD projector. The UHD resolution allows images to come to life on the big screen with all of the user’s favorite movies projected in incredibly fine detail. In addition, a super-resolution video engine allows the V9800 to upscale and enhance lower resolution content.

Authentic Colors As Imagined by the Director

The V9800 follows the Rec 709 protocol set by the International Telecommunications Union for high-definition television, an industry color specification that allows a viewing device (TV, monitor or projector) to recreate colors exactly as they’ve been imagined by the director. The Rec 709 specification digitally defines the color identity during post-production, which allows a compatible projector to recognize and decode the film’s intended visual feeling. Thanks to the inclusion of Rec 709, Acer’s V9800 projector is able to reproduce faithfully the original colors and tones to give viewers an authentic movie-watching experience. The V9800 also features the industry-standard sRGB mode to guarantee consistency and high-quality contrast, while eliminating deviation in color temperature during playback.

ColorPurity and Quiet Operation

In addition to authentic color reproduction, Acer’s ColorPurity technology is applied to the V9800, combining a RGBRGB color wheel with unique lamp control techniques, resulting in a wider color gamut and reduced rainbow effects, allowing the viewer to experience pure reds, rich greens and deep blues for amazingly realistic viewing. The V9800 operates at an extremely low noise level of 20 dBA so movie aficionados are able to hear even the quietest whispers.

Pricing and Availability

Exact specifications, prices, and availability will vary by region. To find out about availability, product specifications and prices in specific markets, please contact your nearest Acer office or retailer via www.acer.com.

The V9800 will be showcased at Acer’s booth #M0420 at 4F, Nangang Exhibition Hall during Computex Taipei 2016 (May 31 to June 4).
