Acer Appoints Meggy Chen as Corporate Chief Financial Officer
Acer Inc. (TWSE: 2353) announces the appointment of Meggy Chen as new Corporate Chief Financial Officer, effective July 1, 2017, following the Board of Directors’ approval today.
A veteran in the financial field, Chen has accumulated nearly 30 years of experience in this sector. Since joining Acer in 1999, she has served at the company for nearly 20 years responsible for corporate treasury at both the global and regional levels. “Meggy’s wealth of experience in the finance field along with her deep roots at Acer make her an ideal fit for the role of our company CFO,” said Jason Chen, Chairman and CEO, Acer Inc. “I look forward to working more closely with Meggy to steer Acer ahead in this ever-changing ICT industry.”
Meggy Chen will succeed the incumbent CFO, Nancy Hu, who has completed her term since taking office in May 2014, and will move on as part of her career plan. Acer’ Board expresses its deep appreciation for Hu’s contribution over the past three years to help strengthen the company’s operations.
From 2002-2004 Chen oversaw treasury in Acer’s Asia Pacific operations, and since 2005 has led the company’s global treasury as associate vice president. Under her capacity, Chen successfully streamlined treasury activities across more than 100 subsidiaries as part of overall corporate finance optimization. Prior to joining Acer, Chen served at Citi.
Born in 1963, Chen is married and holds a Bachelor’s degree in Economics from National Taiwan University, and an MBA from the UCLA Anderson School of Management in the U.S.
