Acer CEO Joins Sean Maloney on the Inaugural “Heart Across America” Ride for Stroke and Heart Disease Awareness

(April 2, 2015) Acer CEO Jason Chen joined Sean Maloney, former Intel executive, on the inaugural bicycle ride across America for stroke and heart disease awareness.

Heart Across America, initiated by Maloney, is a 5,000 mile bicycle ride from Palo Alto to New York to raise awareness and prevention of cardiovascular diseases, the world’s number one cause of death1 .

Chen joined Maloney and his bike team today on one of the legs in Southern California.

“I truly admire Sean for his determination to recover after his debilitating stroke as well as his drive to inform others about preventative measures,” said Acer Corporate President and CEO, Jason Chen. “On behalf of Acer, I am pleased to join him on this inspiring quest to encourage people to lead a healthier life and get the essential screenings to help detect early signs of strokes and heart disease.”

Heart Across America kicked off on March 22 with the final stretch scheduled on June 15. Donations from this mission will go toward the American Heart Association and other nonprofits to fund critical public education, support survivors and life-saving stroke and heart disease research.
