Acer Clinches Eight Design & Innovation Awards from Computex and iF Design

Awarded devices include products from Acer’s notebook, desktop, smartphone, projector, and monitor portfolio


TAIPEI, TAIWAN - Acer has clinched eight Computex d&i (design and innovation awards 2016 for a wide range of products across its portfolio. The awarded products are the Revo Build modular mini PC, Aspire One 11 notebook, Liquid Jade 2 smartphone, Liquid Jade Primo Desktop Kit, Predator Z850 gaming projector, K138STi portable projector, XR342CK gaming monitor, and RT240Y ultra-slim monitor.


The Computex d&i awards are hosted by Computex Taipei and organized by the world-renowned design institute iF International Forum Design. The winning entries are selected by an international expert panel, with evaluation criteria including degree of innovation, design quality, craftsmanship, choice of materials, environmental friendliness, functionality, utility value, safety, ergonomics, universal design, product identity, and product branding.


Revo Build Mini PC

Also a winner of the Red Dot 2016 Product Design Award, the Revo Build is a mini PC that is easily customized with blocks that provide different functions such as extra storage, speakers and microphones, or even wireless charging. The blocks connect precisely via magnetic pogo pins that make assembling a computer as easy as playing with toy blocks. The blocks can also work independently or with other PCs. The Revo Build mini PC is packaged in a tiny one liter chassis with a 125 x 125 mm footprint that takes up minimal space and can be placed almost anywhere.


Aspire One 11 Notebook

Built for home or schools in mind, the Aspire One 11 features a spill-resistant keyboard with water drainage design that protects against accidental spills[1]. While on the move, the Aspire One 11 can stay unplugged for a full workday with 10 hours[2] of battery life. The Aspire One 11 runs Windows 10, and features 802.11ac wireless with 2x2 MIMO, enabling blazing fast network connections with up to three times faster[3] wireless connectivity compared to 802.11n. A Precision Touchpad supports Windows 10 gestures and provides a smooth and responsive experience.


Liquid Jade 2 Smartphone

The Liquid Jade 2 is an elegant Android smartphone designed for a superior multimedia experience. It features Acer’s award-winning Liquid Jade design language with a sleek and slim profile, curved back cover that fits comfortably in the hand and ergonomic 2.5D Corning® Gorilla® Glass screen. The hairline brushed iron-grey back cover is finished with a metallic touch, and joined to the screen with a bold red silhouette highlight. The Liquid Jade 2 has a brilliant AMOLED screen supporting 100% of the NTSC color gamut, and high-resolution audio with virtual surround sound, providing enjoyable entertainment anytime, anywhere.


Liquid Jade Primo Desktop Kit

The Liquid Jade Primo Desktop Kit is an all-in-one mobile productivity kit consisting of the Liquid Jade Primo smartphone, display dock, keyboard and mouse. With the kit, users can connect their phones with a monitor to enable a PC-like experience with ultimate productivity through Windows 10 Continuum, multitasking on both the phone screen and on the external display. For example, users can edit a document on the monitor while simultaneously using other apps on the phone.


Predator Z850 Gaming Projector

The Predator Z850 is the world’s first ultra-wide HD laser projector designed for gaming, with a design featuring red accents and a black chassis with geometric lines. The Predator Z850’s advanced laser diode delivers bright images up to 3,000 lumens with a wide color gamut that brings games to life, and projects a 120-inch screen at a remarkably short distance of just 47cm, thanks to innovative mirrorless ultra-short-throw technology. A top-mounted lens and adjustable feet allow for effortless deployment without any drilling or mounting required, ideal for quick setup at LAN parties.


K138STi Portable Projector

The Acer K138STi is a portable short-throw LED projector with all the essential entertainment features enabling people to enjoy cinema on the go, even without a PC. Smaller than a sheet of A4 or letter-sized paper, the K138ST has remarkable portability thanks to a built-in battery and powerful built-in DTS® sound stereo speakers. Equipped with Acer’s LumiSense+ light sensor, the K138STi can automatically optimize brightness and color saturation based on ambient lighting conditions and content, ideal for carrying from place to place.


XR342CK Gaming Monitor

The Acer XR342CK gaming monitor features a curved 34-inch 21:9 panel with a 1900R curvature and delivers immersive, picture-perfect visuals. Special features like 6-axis color adjustment and DTS® Sound deepen the audio/visual impact, while a customizable ambient light at the lower edge of the monitor provides lighting effects that match the desired mood. The base can swivel from -30 to +30 degrees, allowing users to easily adjust the monitor to their desired viewing angle.


RT240Y Monitor

The Acer RT240Y monitor has an ultra-thin enclosure of 7mm and an elegant T-shaped metal stand, making it ideal for everyday computing in any space. The stylish ZeroFrame design maximizes the view and minimizes visual clutter with a bezel so thin you barely notice it, providing a seamless viewing experience for multi-monitor setups. Combining Acer Flicker-less and Blue Light Filter technologies with 5 to 15 degree adjustable tilt, the R1 series is easy on the eyes, providing a comfortable viewing experience.


Award Pavilion at Computex 2016

All winning products will be displayed at the Computex d&i awards pavilion located at booth #I0407 at the Nangang Exhibition Hall, during Computex Taipei from May 31st to June 4th. The winning products will then continue on a world tour at other major ICT exhibitions including IFA in Berlin, CES in Las Vegas, and MWC in Barcelona.
