Acer Listed on Global Sustainability Indices: 2017 DJSI and FTSE4Good

Editor’s Summary:
• Acer is listed on DJSI’s Emerging Markets Index for the fourth consecutive year, and on the FTSE4Good Emerging Index for the second consecutive year
• DJSI: In addition to continuing to perform well in the areas of Supply Chain Management and Climate Strategy, Acer got top marks for Policy Influence, Privacy Protection, Environmental Reporting, and Social Reporting
• FTSE4Good: Acer performed especially well in the areas of Environmental Supply Chain and Social Supply Chain

Acer (TWSE: 2353, LSE: ACID) announced today that it has been listed on two global sustainability index series, the Dow Jones Sustainability Indices (DJSI) and the FTSE4Good Index series, which identify companies that demonstrate strong Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) practices. This is the fourth consecutive year Acer has been listed on the DJSI Emerging Markets Index, and the second consecutive time it has appeared on the FTSE4Good Emerging Index.

“We are very pleased to see Acer’s continued presence on the DJSI Emerging Markets Index and FTSE4Good Emerging Index,” said Richard Lai, Corporate Sustainability Officer at Acer. “But just as important as our continued listing on these indices is the headway we have made in new areas beyond our traditional strengths in Supply Chain Management.”

In addition to continuing to receive high marks in the areas of Supply Chain Management and Climate Change, this year Acer ranked in the top (100th) percentile within the DJSI Emerging Markets Index for Policy Influence, Privacy Protection, Environmental Reporting, and Social Reporting. Among the areas that Acer performed well in, Policy Influence was a new assessment criterion that was added in 2017, which focuses on companies’ transparent disclosure of their policy influence activities. The new criterion was highlighted by the publisher of the DJSI, RobecoSAM, as a material issue that it believes deserves more attention from ESG and investment analysts.

Acer was also listed on the FTSE4Good Emerging Index for the second consecutive year where it was cited for performing especially well in the areas of Environmental Supply Chain and Social Supply Chain.
