Acer Pan America President Sumit Agnihotry Passes Away
Acer deeply regrets to announce that Sumit Agnihotry, president of Acer Pan America, has passed away from cancer. Gregg Prendergast, co-President of Acer Pan America and 35-year veteran of the IT industry, will continue to lead the Acer Pan America team.
“Sumit has been with Acer for 17 years and was one of our brightest talents and well-recognized for his strong leadership,” said George Huang, Acer Chairman. “We will sorely miss Sumit and express our deepest condolences to his family at this time.”
“Sumit was an outstanding executive,” said Jason Chen, Acer Corporate President and CEO, “he led the Pan America team to open new chapters of success. We truly appreciate his contributions at Acer.”
“I’ve known and worked closely with Sumit since 1998 and I’m deeply saddened by his passing,” said Gregg Prendergast. “He was an esteemed and respected leader and the entire Acer Pan America team will miss him dearly.”
Mr. Agnihotry passed away yesterday. He was 38 years old. He joined Acer in 1998 as product marketing manager during his final year of college, and went on to hold positions of increasing importance that eventually led to his promotion as president of Acer Pan America in 2014.
