Acer Reports Consolidated Revenues for December at NT$21.03 Billion and Q4 at NT$67.1 Billion
TAIPEI, TAIWAN - A strong fourth quarter demonstrates the company’s continuous business momentum
Acer Inc. (TWSE: 2353) announced today its consolidated revenues for December at NT$21.03 billion, up 12% year-on-year (YoY) in terms of NT$, or by 19% measured in US$. For the fourth quarter, consolidated revenues reached NT$67.1 billion, with quarter-on-quarter (QoQ) growth of 11% in both NT$ and US$, and YoY growth of 9% YoY in NT$ or 15% measured in US$. For the full year 2017, Acer reported consolidated revenues of NT$237.33 billion, up 8% YoY measured in US$.
Wrapping up year 2017, Acer demonstrated strong business momentum in Q4, and this is attributable to several fast-growing product segments, which delivered YoY revenue increases in Q4: gaming products grew by 129%, Windows-based commercial notebooks grew by 45%, Chromebooks grew by 67%, and the Altos artificial intelligence business1 grew by 48%.
Regionally, Acer also reported Q4 YoY revenue growths: Latin America grew by 25% to demonstrate its continuing momentum, the U.S. grew by 21% mainly due to year-end holiday promotions, China grew by 38% showing recovery, and India grew by 72% indicating market stabilization.
