Acer Reports Q1 2018 Results: Consolidated Revenues NT$54.8 Billion, Net Income NT$708 Million, EPS NT$0.23

TAIPEI, TAIWAN - Acer Inc. (TWSE: 2353) announced today the financial results for Q1 2018: consolidated revenues were NT$54.8 billion, growing 3.52% year-on-year (YoY) measured in terms of US$ or down 2.2% YoY in terms of NT$; gross profits were NT$5.76 billion with 10.5% margin (up from 9.7% over the same period last year); operating income was NT$547 million; earnings before tax1 was NT$1.02 billion; net income2 was NT$708 million; and earnings per share (EPS) were NT$0.23.

Acer’s strategy of pursuing multiple growth engines has begun to bear fruit, with its gaming line3 reaching 94% YoY growth in terms of shipment, and 60% YoY growth in revenue, while both Chromebooks and commercial notebooks saw double-digit YoY growth in revenue in the first quarter.

In addition, Acer saw a 55% YoY revenue growth in Russia and neighboring countries, while a 26% YoY revenue growth was seen among Latin American countries.
