Acer Scores in Top 5% of Companies in S&P Global Sustainability Assessment

Listed in S&P Global Sustainability Yearbook for fifth straight Year

TAIPEI (February 26, 2025) Acer Inc. (TWSE: 2353) has been listed among the Top 5% companies in the S&P Global Sustainability Yearbook, which this year selected only 780 out of 7,690 companies across 62 industries evaluated in the 2024 Corporate Sustainability Assessment (CSA). Notably, Acer achieved the maximum industry score in the Social category and excelled in the areas of Customer Relations, Supply Chain Management, and Climate Strategy. In 2024, Acer was also listed among TIME’s World’s Most Sustainable Companies.

The CSA highlighted that companies need to consider the entire product lifecycle, circularity and resource efficiency in their product designs. With ongoing efforts to enhance its climate-related corporate disclosures, Acer published its first biodiversity risk assessment report in 2024. The report analyzed the impact of nature and biodiversity on Acer’s upstream suppliers, own operations, and downstream customers.

Acer has pledged to achieve net-zero emissions by 2050 via a low-carbon transition and climate strategy that outlines nine directions under three major pillars: business operations, products and services, and value chain. Its commitment to reduce greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions has been validated by the Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi) to align with the goal to limit global temperature rise within the 1.5C trajectory. Acer has set goals to reduce absolute scope 1 and 2 GHG emissions by 50% by 2030 from a 2019 base year and to reduce absolute scope 3 GHG emissions by 35% by 2030 from a 2020 base year.
