Acer Worldwide Projector Market Share Reaches Record High in Q2 2015

TAIPEI, TAIWAN - According to the latest data from PMA1 , for Q2 2015 Acer has reached a record high market share of 8% worldwide and 17.8% in EMEA2 , positioning Acer as the third largest projector brand worldwide and No.1 DLP brand in EMEA. In regards to shipments in Q2 2015, Acer is the highest growing projector brand among the top five worldwide players with 11% growth quarter-on-quarter (QoQ).

In EMEA, Acer was the only projector brand among the top five to have a positive QoQ shipment growth, while ranking at the top place this quarter by market share in Germany, Turkey, South Africa, and Ukraine. Acer has maintained market leader in Germany since 2007 and reached a record high of 32.5% market share in Q2 2015. In Spain and France, educational sector demand for projectors with the Acer Smart Pen, which transforms the projected surface into an interactive whiteboard, contributed to the positive shipment growth.

Acer’s innovations in dust protection and wireless projection has made it a preferable choice for the education market in the Asia Pacific region. In regions suffering from haze, dust, or classrooms using chalkboards, Acer’s unique DustShield design can effectively prolong the projector’s lifespan with sealed optics, vertical circuit boards which reduce dust buildup, 3D dust filters, and lens shields. Optional wireless dongles enable teachers to conveniently stream content from notebooks, tablets, or even their smartphone to the screen.

Bright spots of growth for Acer in the Asia Pacific region include China and Thailand, due to the winning of several large tenders, and growth in the Philippines and Indonesia, which has increased its focus on commercial sales, expanding its reach to the SMB market through leading system integrators.
